WSC98 Thanks Friend

I made this card to send to Traci at Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Support. I was having some difficulty with getting my MDS scrapbook uploaded to print, and Traci was on the phone with me for over an hour to try and work out all of the kinks. She even called me back with some follow-up info the next day and said that they were giving me a free stamp set for all of the trouble! How cool is that?!?!

I have seen a lot of cards using the soft suede and kraft together and I love how it looks, so that is what I started with. Then I looked at Beate’s Weekend Sketch challenge for this week and thought it would be perfect with the Friends 24-7 stamp set. Here is a link to the challenge: http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2009/09/18/weekend-sketch-challenge-98/.

I added in brocade blue for a splash of color and I love how it looks with the kraft and suede. I used my markers to color the bird image and the sentiment #from Thank You Kindly#. I stamped the damask image in stamped-off soft suede ink on the kraft panel and in soft suede ink on the soft suede panel. I used the eyelet border punch to create the decorative strip along the bottom of the kraft panel, and the large oval and scalloped oval punches for the sentiment panel. The sentiment panel is up on dimensionals. I threaded linen thread through the button and around the ribbon to create the gathered look of the ribbon. I added the brads as a final touch….I can’t seem to make a card without brads. I think I have a problem…

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!
