    WARNING!!!

These boxes have a very strong odor when they are first unwrapped, probably due to the ink dying the outside fabric. It hit one person I know badly and kicked in a slight asthma fit. So, for those of you that are sensitive, take appropriate precautions.

Ok, so you mean the storage boxes in the catty? They are kind of canvas fabric? I was trying to think of what Sizzix box dies had fabric involved.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

Oops, yes, the boxes for storing the dies. They are beautiful, though. Yes, the exterior fabric is a painted/dyed canvas. The interior is very smooth printed stock.

Oh my Goodness Trina... You are so right.... I had to let mine "air out" for a day. I was wondering if it was the glue used to adhere the paper inside. I bought a few of the storage boxes from the Sizzix site when they were on sale, they don't have the paper inside and there wasn't the smell when I got them, so I was sooooo surprised when I unwrapped my large box and the smell hit me....

I noticed the strong odor as well. I also thought it might be some type of adhesive. Made me feel a little loopy after I opened all four of them. Kinda like a kid sniffin' glue or somethin'. :) That's what I call a happy stamper!

If they are made in China, they might likely be made with unsafe chemicals in the fabric, etc.
I am paranoid as to anything that now has a weird smell in it every since I learned of childrens baby bottles and other plastics manufactured with unsafe materials.

Has someone reported this to demo support. When these things are in customs they are fumigated so no nasty critters come in, but is people are getting ill SU needs to know ASAP.
