Heart Duo Valentine from Troops

This is my second card to send to troops for them to send home for Valentine’s. I really love how this came out. I am a freak for the square lattice embossing folder, and this inset embossing technique.

On the inside I put a pink panel for them to write on, and punched out three small hearts on each side for the eggplant to show through, then I glued those punched out hearts to the inside top.

Stamps: baroque motifs, teeny tiny wishes
Inks: elegant eggplant, real red, versamark (for card base)
Papers: elegant eggplant, pretty in pink, certainly celery, whisper white
Accessories: beautiful wings sizzlet, square lattice EF, Lg heart punch, scallop border punch, sm and lg oval punches
Techniques: inlaid embossing
Difficulty Rating (1-Easy, 5-Hard): 2

What do you think?

  1. This is beautiful!! This is probably a dumb question, but I turned 40 and can’t see as well as I used to, but did you adhere the hearts and butterflies to the whisper white piece and run that whole thing through the lattice embossing folder? Or, did you punch out the hearts and we are seeing the inside of the card?

  2. Kris, I’ll pm you, but for anyone else wanting to know, this is called inset embossing. You punch out the hearts, butterflies etc, glue them on the white piece, then run the whole thing through the square lattice embossing folder. I love this technique.
